San Antonio - Ibiza
|
San Antonio is located in the north-west of the island and has a total extension of 124,5 Km2, the total population is 16,000.
It is most known for the crazy night life of San Antonio Town, that starts as soon the sun goes down in the legendary Chill out bar Café Del Mar, then the action moves on to “The West End” were you will find the highest density of clubs and bars you will find in Ibiza (dominated by young British public).
A walk down the Paseo de las Fuentes where street artists will make a caricature or portrait of you, further towards Ibiza town will bring you to the 'Egg of Columbus', it seems incredible but there is evidence that Columbus was from Ibiza and that is the reason for this monument.
Next to the egg you will find 2 of the biggest discos on the island, Eden and Es Paradis (for more information check out our Clubbing Guide).
To get warmed up for these 2 discos going to the Manu Mission Bar or have a snack in Donalds or Pizza Hut.
You will probably get pestered by Africans trying to sell you something. (some of the things they sell are not legal, even in Ibiza!…so be careful).

San Antonio town is not the place to go if you are sensitive to excess but believe it or not there is a virgin side to San Antonio, like:
Santa Inés
In this tiny town were you will find a infinity of almond trees whose spring blossoms are the 'wishing flowers' and create one of the best natural spectacles in Ibiza.
San Rafael
Is 8km from the centre of San Antonio town and enjoys splendid views over Ibiza town, it’s the only town that is in walking distance of discos Amnesia and Priviledge.
However, it happens to be the home of some of the most talented pottery and jewelry craftsmen in the island.
San Mateo
This is be biggest wine production area of the island and every December they celebrate the “Fiesta del Vino” (The wine Party).
The church was built in the XVIII century, legend has it that the locals built the church as fast as they could to finish it before their neighbours of Santa Ines. The Competition was so strong that they made the walls of the church lower than planned to finish first.
Some of the best beaches are also found here, check out our beach guide.
San Antonio is a municipality of contrast…you love it or hate it, there is no in between…but there is a place for every one and it’s a place you will never forget ... for good or bad.
