Sa Llonja in Palma is housing until November 23, the exhibition "Atapuerca y la evolución humana", produced by the Fundació Caixa Catalunya directed by Jua Luis Arsuaga, codirector of the Research Team of Atapuerca. UNEMPLOYMENT on IBIZA
The Office of Employment of the Govern Balear (INEM) in the Pituises announced a record unemployment increase of 26% for Ibiza and Formentera for the month of September.
Local government sources attribute this large increase to the drop in hotel reservations and the winding down of the 2003 tourist season. But Pedro Matutues, the President of the Hotel Federation said: "...We are not surprised..it is only another confirmation of what we have been saying about the consequences of the the hotel industry's situation, and the lack of reservations for October."

ARCHEOLOGICAL SKELETONS DISCOVERED
Lourdes Costa, the Ibiza town counselor for culture and history, announced the discovery of two skeletons in the trench, started on the Avenida de España, for the laying of new drainage and communications pipes.
The skeletons, according to local archeologists, date from the Arab occupation of Ibiza (740 A.D-1235 A.D) and were found at less than one meter depth under the old asphalt.
The ayuntamiento observed that: "This discovery, while not earth-shaking, could lead to the delay (originially calculated at 3 months) in the termination of the construction of the new canalizations.
"We plan on being very careful in the removal and study of any archeological finds in the path of this project."
