Jazzmen
of all ages will come together this weekend to see the beginning
of a new project in San Antonio. The bar "Simple"
in the west end will be converted into a meeting place and concert
venue for Jazz lovers from all over the Balearic Islands.
The
idea was the brainchild of some of our most famous Jazz artists
including Alfredo Souza, Chema Pellico and Gori Tomas, and was
arranged with the help of the local town hall. It will continue
throughout the winter until the tourist season starts around
April, when the bar will revert back to a tourist bar for the
thousands of youngsters who visit the island each summer.
Thursdays
and Sundays will be dedicated to the younger artists to play
and organise jam sessions and will begin around 9pm. Fridays
and Saturdays will be the ideal time to go and hear the more
experienced players, and also the talents of the german pianist
Joachim Kuhn. Some of the artists you may get to hear
have just finished recording an album in the house of the famous
painter Robert Arato, right here on Ibiza.
