This represents a record growth for foreign residents, over half of whom (10,000) hail from European Coomon Market countries, and over 5,000 from North and South Americaa. |

![]() The Balearia ship 'ROLON SUR' has been salvaged from the rocks off Illetas without environmental damage. However the ship has been determined to be unrecoverable as the entire front bulb and the hull's bow has been twisted out of place.....it has been towed to Ibiza harbour for repairs enough to make it navegable to the mainland where it will be junked for scrap metal. |
The arrests in the terrorist bombing attacks of the Atocha train station of Madrid has risen to 20 persons...almost all of them Morrocan Islamic fundamentalists,with Al Qaida connections. A contry house near Mardid has been found with fingerprints of many of
the arrested, and unused blasting caps of the type used in the bombing attacks
and found in the stolen and abandoned truck found in Madrid. The truck contained
many fingerprints matching those of the country house and those of the leading
suspect Jamal Zougam, suspected of being the leader and organizer of the
attack. |
Berlin Travel Fair:Veteran 58 yr. old, Michael Douglas, and part time resideint of Mallorca, contracted by the Balearic Government to promote the islands at the major travel fairs of Europe (for several million Euros!), when asked about Ibiza, said.."I am too old for Ibiza, but my son loves it because he wants to become a DJ."...this brief and unacceptable description of Ibiza, so infuriated Island officials..especially when compared to his lengthy eulogy of Mallorca, that local representatives are demanding an investigation as to what part of his multi-million Euro contract is being paid by Ibiza residents. |
