The HOTEL PALMYRA**** Has spent a lot of time and effort upgrading from a 3-Star to a 4-Star hotel.......but nobody knows about it...and OFFERS SPECIAL DISCOUNTS to celebrate including a FREE bottle of chilled Cava in your room...this makes the PALMYRA one of the best offers on the net for luxury accomodation. SPECIAL OFFER DISCOUNTS If you can arrange your arrival for a SUNDAY, you can take advantage of some BIG DISCOUNTS that are being offered by the FOUR STAR HOTELS......(ONLY at ibiza-hotels.com): GOLETA**** EL CORSO**** The reason is that these (and other hotels) have tremendous holes in their availability for SUNDAY ARRIVALS. As well as the fact that the programming of these discounts is so difficult that other hotel portals have not been able to do it. |
'STUPID WHITE MEN' AWARD NOMINATIONS: Mr. Carlos Aría The now ex-Presidente of the Balearic Government Tourist Promotion Agency (IBATUR), resigned yesterday amid what promises to be one of the biggest political scandals of the Balearic Islands. It appears that Mr. Aría, who manages a huge budget for tourist promotion througout the Balearic Islands, together with 7 other MALLORCAN politicians of the Balearic Islands, decided it would be a good idea to go to MOSCOW (coinciding with the footbal game to be played there between Palma Mallorca and Moscow...and at the expense of the IBATUR budget)......"..to promote Russian tourism to the Balearic Islands..." Turns out that Mr.Aría (and 7 unnamed companions), decided to go to a local Moscow cathouse called the 'Club Rasputín". (Undoubtedly for the purposes of promoting the Balearic Islands amongst the girls there as well!). <----(see foto left from the 'Rasputín Club' website) This possibly explains why they charged their entrance tickets and drinks to the expense account of the public agency IBATUR....in other words, to the Spanish taxpayers. The scandal may also help to explain why IBATUR has refused to share their bloated budget with the islands of Ibiza and Formentera.....which have continually (an unsuccessfully), requested funds from this budget for their own separate tourist promotions. The "...Ibicenans ONLY" Museum: The COUNCILMAN for the HERITAGE and CULTURE of Ibiza and Formentera, Juan Marí Tur Announced last Tuesday, the creation of an art gallery exclusively for artistic painters " ...born on Ibiza". The organ of local goverment which he heads, announced the purchase of paintings exlusively from 6 or 7 painters "..born on Ibiza". The STUPIDITY of this discriminatory scheme exposes the comlete ignorance on the part of Mr. Marí Tur's department regarding the identity of the 'real' artists of Ibiza , and their tremendous contribution to the culture and worldwide fame as an artists refuge. Many artists of international renown live(d) much of their lives on Ibiza. (Barry Flanagan, Antonio Villanueva, Juliian Adrían, Bill Fulljames, James Taylor)....just to name a few). .MOST of them were not born here.....but have lived here many yeears, raised their children here, and many have died here. and they have paid the same taxes as those born here...taxpayer money with which Mr. Mar´i Tur plans to open his xenophobic museum. |
