Skaters will take over Santa Eulalia on Sunday

The main street(Calle San Jaime) in Santa Eulalia, Ibiza will be closed on the morning of the 18th of March (Sunday) for the celebration of the ?Skating day?.
Organized by the 'Association Culturelle College Français Ibiza' , in collaboration with the City council and the Consell Insular.

A similar day was celebrated in October of last year on the marine walkway of the Villa del Rio, with about 70 participants, between the ages of 5 and 35, although in this occasion the ?skating day? will have competitive character and will be divided in 3 categorys, according to the ages.

1st race will be the dedicated to the youngest; the so called ` paseo´ will admit participants between the ages of 4 to 8 years.

2nd The race of ` kilómetro´ is for skaters of 9 to 14 years.

3rd The `milla´, for skaters between 14 and 99 years.

However, "if somebody comes and he?s over 100 years old and the wants to skate we will let him", said the president of the event, Jocelyne Calafat.

Calafat indicated that on this occasion, the races will be celebrated in the San Jaime street because the ground is smoother than the one in the stroll.
The assistants will be treated to French food. Plus there will be a demonstration of Capoeira in front of the town hall, and family games on the beach.

The inscriptions will take place at 10.30 hours in the Plaza España.
