Ibiza unemployment figures

The annual average unemployment in Ibiza and Formentera concludes with 5,163 unemployed, with a reduction of 276 (-5,1%) with respect to 2005. Masculine and feminine unemployment grew in December, although in 2006 feminine unemployment decreased by 498 people in relation to the previous year and the masculine by 141 people. In spite of this reduction, the women continue being a majority in the lists of unemployment.
By sectors, unemployment practically increased in all the sectors in December.

The number of unemployed registered in the offices of the Servei d´Ocupació of Balears (SOIB) in Ibiza and Formentera increased in December by 357 unemployed in relation to the previous month, with which the number of unemployed was 6.952.
December is a month which traditionally suffers a increase of unemployment.
