7 % VISITOR INCREASE in 2006 over 2005
The airport of Ibiza closed the year with a movement of 4.460.141 passengers and 54,146 flights.
According to sources of Aena (Airport Adminsitration), in comparison with the previous year, the traffic of travellers increased a 7.1%, whereas the number of flights increased in a 9.2%.
Last year 4.408.745 commercial travellers arrived at the Ibiza Airport, which supposes a 6.7% increase over the previous year.
Of them, 1.920.989 came from national flights and 2.487.756 from international flights.
With respect to the movements of airplanes, 48,382 were commercial flights, of which 29,294 were national, wich translates to a growth of 12%, and 19,088 were international for a 10% increase over the previous year.
By nationalities, the countries with the most traffic of passengers registered throughout the last year have been Spain, with 1.954.309 passengers, followed of the United Kingdom, with 1.174.348 travellers; Germany, with 569,271 people, and Italy, with 499,781 passengers.
