Google Seminar in Ibiza

At 12:30 PM today, representatives of Google in Spain, held a talk about how Google works and publicity programs available to webmasters.

The seminar, held in the 5th floor conference room of the Consel Insular, was organized by Diego Guasch, the Conselor for New Technologies, and which went into overtime, was presented by Olga San Jacinto, the Comercial Director of Google in Spain. Many webmasters of major Ibiza sites were present including those for ibiza-hotels and ibizahotelsguide.com.

This was the first time that any major search engine representative offers a presentation to Ibiza webmasters, explaining their services, products and publicity possibilities. And was very attentively recieved with thanks from the attendees.

24,3% more flights to Ibiza in April

The airport of Ibiza registered during the past month of April 176,330 passengers. In comparison with the same month of 2005, the traffic of travellers has grown by 24.3 percent. A spectacular number that is explained, partly, because the Easter of this year was in April and not in March, as it happened in 2005.

The passenger flights increased in April a 16.5 percent with respect to 2005 and the transit of merchandise, however underwent a reduction of the 6.2 percent. By nationalities, the countries with more traffic were Spain, with 148,981 passengers, followed by Germany, with 13,354 passengers and United Kingdom, with 6.576. During the four first months of the year the airport has registered an increase of 17.7% in the number of passengers.

Enviroment bids on the project to improve the coast of Figueretas in Ibiza Town

The project of remodeling of the marine stroll of Figueretas in Ibiza could begin at the end of 2007. The Ministry wants to rescue the public domain, which will affect numerous swimming pools.

The Ministry of Enviroment has made a contest to give out the job of improvements of the coastal front from the city of Ibiza in the area of ses Figueretas. The budget is of 118,424 euros and could begin at the end of 2007.

The intention of the City council of Ibiza Town is that the remodeling affects the most extensive area possible, from Puig Des Molins to Playa den Bossa.

Torres showed their intention to change the image of the coast radically, not only apply `superficial make up´. For this they will not doubt in recovering the public domain that now is occupied by numerous swimming pools, soláriums and another type of structures, that in some cases are even reaching the sea.
The project will create, a strong controversy, because many economic interests are involved, since the project could suggest the demolition of numerous tourist infrastructures .
At the same time its environmental impact will be studied.
