A increase of 6% in the number of British tourists
The consul of the United Kingdom in Balears, Paul Abrey, assured yesterday that he calculates an increase of between the five and six percent of British tourists visiting Ibiza and the rest of the islands this high season with respect to the previous year, since only in Mallorca they expect two million visitors.
These numbers agree with the forecasts conducted recently by the president of the Consell Insular, Pere Palau. Abrey affirmed that he bases this prognosis on his impression and the numbers that the embassy of the United Kingdom in Spain handle. The consul made these declarations after a meeting with the president of the Govern, Jaume Matas, to invite him to the commemorative act of the 80 birthday of the Queen of England, Isabel II, that will be celebrated in the castle of Bellver in Palma, the next 10th of June.
