Tourist expenditure drops by 26% in March

The total money spend by tourists in Ibiza and the rest of Balearic Islands in March reached 218 million euros, 26.2 percent less than the same month of the last year, which places Balears in the Spanish community with the strongest decrease in the amount of money spent by tourists.

This survey also reveals that the tourists that came the first trimester of this year to Spain spend 7,501 million euros.

German reservations increasing

This season the early German reservations have been recovering, thanks to the great efforts made by the tourist companies, which are motivated by the fear of a drop in german tourists coming to Ibiza and Formentera as a result of theFootball World Cup in Germany.

According to the spokesman of TUI in Balears, Juan Carlos Allies, it's "impossible" to determine how much the early reservations have increased, due to the many different ways to make reservations.
