A Russian Tour Operator connects Ibiza and Moscow from June to September
The main Russian touroperator in the Balearic Islands, Natalie Tours, anticipates to bringing 50 percent more visitors of Russian nationality to Ibiza this year, going from 10,000 in 2005 to about 15,000 that will come this season, with a new flight to Mallorca and, for the first time, to Ibiza.
Felipe Perez, director of Sehrs Trips and delegate of Natalie Tours in the Balearic Islands, said that the new connection Moscow-Mallorca, will operate by a Boeing 737 with capacity for more than 400 passengers, making 3 trips a week, one on Sundays and two on Thursdays.
Another direct connection will start from the Russian capital to the island of Ibiza from beginning of June till the end of September, which will be a pioneering experience, and a wager that Natalie Tours justifies in the great prestige that the island has in that country.
According to Perez, the arrival of tourists of Russian nationality has been increasing at the rate of a 30 inter-annual percent since 2003, although it's still a minority market in Ibiza and Formentera.
