'Flao' of Ibiza and Formentera will obtain a seal of 'Original Quality'
Two technicians of consellería of Agriculture of the Govern Balear visited several Bakereys of Ibiza and Formentera to register the original ingredients of flaó (a tipical ibicenco desert) with the aim of establishing a seal of common Quality for all the municipalities, according to the technician of commerce of the Pimeef, Vicente Tur Alonso.
Although there are nearly 50 masterful craftsmen who elaborate this dessert, the document will be written between 25 of them, which are the ones "who will put the points and the commas in the original recipe of this dessert that today is made in important quanities", declared Tur Alonso.
The geographic indentification requires the number of ingredients, their exact percentage, and processing techniques in order to create the document "that allows us to export flaó as a unique product of quality from Ibiza and Formentera".
