Ibiza : Govern and Consell will finance part of the rescue of the Roman wreck

The archaeologist of the Consell met yesterday in Ibiza with the specialized company Maris Argon.

Through conselleria of Industry and Commerce and the Insular Consell, through Patrimony, will finance part of the recovery of Roman boat wreck, of the time of the Low Empire (between centuries II and IV), loaded of amphoras and located to about 80 meters of depth in waters of Formentera. Conseller of Patrimony, Joan Marí Tur, confirmed the institutional collaboration yesterday, although also it aimed that it will not cover the total of the rescue, considered in about 485,000 euros. The association of "observers of the sea" Maris Argon, has located the rest of the boat and applying the last technology, with a robot, already it has filmed the place of the collapse. It is predicted that the works of recovery begin the next month of June. The head of the service of Archaeology of the Consell, Joan Ramon, maintained yesterday a meeting in Barcelona with the association, which she attended a French specialized archaeologist and another Catalan technician, to make specific details of the operation, that will extend several years. Within the framework of the activities of ` Divendres de Patrimoni´, the first submarine shooting made by Maris Argus projected yesterday in the room of culture of Sa Nostra in Formentera, titled ` Operació Pitiüses´. One is a short one of 8 minutes in which the rest of the amphoras can be seen that appear on the marine bottom. Conseller Joan Marí Tur assured that "the pieces of more value will go to the future Museum of Formentera and the rest to the Museum of Ibiza".

The liberalization of the electrical market in Ibiza

The citizens of the island of Ibiza will be able to choose from diferent power suppliers.
Conseller of Industry and Energy, Josep Juan Cardona, considers that the liberalization of the power market, will be effective next 10 of April, it will be "very beneficial", because it will suppose the free access to the supplies of the electrical sector and will imply the compensation of the insularidad. Conselleria of Industry and Energy presented an official notice in which Cardona values the Government State report (BOE) in with two ministerial orders to develop the Real Decree of regulation of extrapeninsular electrical systems insulares and, approved by the Cabinet in December of 2003. This power planning includes the connection between Peninsula and Balears and the connections Ibiza-Formentera and Majorca-Menorca. According to conseller, "although the approval of these two norms has taken place with a delay of twenty months with respect to the anticipated date", that it has taken effect is positive since it establishes a specific and stable repaying frame directed to compensate the over costs of the generation of electricity in the territories of Ibiza and the rest of Balears. As far as the liberalization, conseller remembers that the two ministerial orders, that had been informed favorably by the Comunitat, as the Real Decree "extends the possibilities of option of the Balearic citizens at the time of contracting the electrical provision". From the 10 of April, Balearic citizens "they will be able to choose between staying in the tariff system or, however, choosing to the supplies that the power supliers make".
