Ibiza and Formentera will invest in next the two years a total of 14.6 million euros in the improvement of social, sport, road, power and environmental infrastructures of
Formentera, according to what was announced yesterday by the vice-president of the Consell, Josep Mayans, during the presentation of works financed through this organization, ordered to raise the funds contributed by the Balearic Govern (a 75% of the total) and the highest island institution (25%). The first investments will begin immediately, whereas the rest is developed will be done as it advances the transaction of the projects. Josep Mayans emphasized that the execution of the Infrastructure Plan "will allow at the moment to end the existing deficit of services in Formentera" and emphasized "the important economic injection that he will receive the island in the next years". Mayans also underlined, that the works anticipated in the Infrastructure Plan are added to other projects that at the moment are being executed in Formentera, as it is the case of the new hospital, the plant of transference of remainders or the opening of a center by day for older people. "the citizens of Formentera deserved a plan of these characteristics because an historical infrastructure deficit exists that it has to be solved". The vice-president of the Insular Consell presented the plan of investments of the Partnership Ibiza and Formentera accompanied by the technical director of the organization, the ex- mayor Juan Manuel Costa, that reviewed the works that aticipate to be developed in the island. Costa stood out that many of the projects will be "of immediate execution" and announced that it is predicted that the governing meeting of the Partnership approves a management charge to start up a line of subventions for the recovery of dry stone walls, the improvement of roads, the excavation of electrical and telephone lines or the conservation of wells and old cisterns. These aids, that count on a global investment of 900,000 euros, will have a use of three years, according to what was advanced by Juan Manuel Costa. The director of the Partnership also talked about works of adjustment of rural roads, with the paving of 35 kilometers of the secondary road network. "Once the management charge is approved, the works will be able to be begin", explained Coast, and it added that most of these projects they count on "a relatively short" implementation time, reason why "the citizens will be able to soon see the improvements that the application of the Infrastructure Plan will suppose". Another one of the outstanding initiatives by the technical director of the Consorcio Ibiza and Formentera Emprenen makes reference to the electrification of the zone of is CAP of Barbaria that, according to Costa, "is a project that is very advanced". The budget ascends to 487.200. Improvement of Pujols the Infrastructure Plan of Formentera also contemplates the construction of an underground parking spaces in Es Pujols. At the moment one works in the writing of an agreement of collaboration with the City council of Formentera, that will have to yield the lot where the seat is located to be able to execute works. The project, complementary to the reform of the seat, contemplates the rating of 154 spaces for the parking of vehicles. The remodeling anticipates the suppression of the 80 parkings in surface to turn the zone, located in the center of the tourist locality in a peatonal space. The investment in this tourist center ascends to 1.5 million euros.
