Baleària spends 93 million euros for a new ship on the Ibiza-Palma route
The shipping company Baleària has ordered the the construction from Bareras ship builders. The new Ferry involves an investment of 93 million euros and will have a capacity for 1,200 passengers.
According to the Association of Spanish Shipping companies (ANAVE), the new ship, that will be ready by 2008, will also have capacity for 1,720 linea meters of trailers and 108 cars or 1,195 meters of trailers and 332 caras. With 161.7 meters of length and 25.6 wide, it will reach a speed of 22 knots. This new ship has specifically been designed for the port of Denia and the traffic with Ibiza and Palma.
