Rural hotels in Ibiza request publicity support

The Association of Rural Tourism ( agro-tourism ) of Sant Joan petitioned the Consell for a permanent office in the airport.

The Association of Rural Tourism of Sant Joan has directed a letter to the conseller of Tourism of the Consell Insular, Jose Cardona Torres, to solicit aopen all year tourist information office in the airport of Ibiza, with the purpose of offering information throughout to the clients who arrive to the island during the winter season.

These rural hotels expressed their preoccupation because of cases in which
possible clients have arrived at the islandIbiza during the winter and have not been able to obtain any information on its establishments because the office of the Consell Insular was closed.

This office remains open from May to October, but the rest of the year it is closed. The association of Sant Joan proposes that during the winter it opens to the public in a flexible schedule, based on the arrival of the airplanes, and that it is taken care of by students of the School of Tourism, contracted by the Consell.

"We thought that as there is an information office in the port of Ibiza, we should have one in the airport, which informs the public on what is open in winter", stated the president of the Association of Rural Tourism, Antoni Marí Garcia.
