The City council of Ibiza has invested 6,000 euros in improving the equipment of the power station of radio taxi, located in the district of Figueretes. This service, that until now was working with a person, increases its group with another worker. The first lieutenant of mayor of Ibiza, Pedro Campillo, visited yesterday these facilities and informed that the new installed equipment consist of three computers, a new central telephone office with the respective telephones and a printer. This equipment already are installed, with the exception of the new switchboard, that will be left till the end of the month, according to Julian Mohedano, delegate of base of the Power station of Radio Taxi. The calls will enter automatically by the switchboard and from there they will be turned aside towards both computers, so that the 2 persons have a greater operativity. "It is an improvement that was being requested long time ago to the City council and it has granted it, which we are very thankfull for; it is a very good measurement ", indicated the delegate. Mohedano plus the equipment that is now settle are compatible with the possible implantation in the future of modern systems for the taxis, as can be the GPS or the location of fleets. this way, a first step towards innovations coming inthe future, with the purpose of improving the service gradually. In this sense, the lieutenant of mayor Pedro Campillo indicated that the City council as much as the taxi drivers agree in the necessity to make these improvements.
