Conference on cooking in Medival times
Can Ventosa in Ibiza will welcome today, at 19.30 hours, the conference ` Cuina i alimentació a l´čpoca Medieval´(Medieval Cooking), by Maria Soler, professor of medieval History of the University of Barcelona and expert in gastronomy .
It will be analyze how the nobles ate , the clergy and the farmers in medieval society, the diet depended on one's social category. The monks had a spartan diet, manly a vegetarian and anorexia was a signal of sanctity.
