The beach kiosks of Formentera will not be able to prepare meals

The reason is in the strict application of the norms fixed to the conditions of the authorization on sanitary measures hygienic. They will not be able even to serve drinks in glasses. This measurs, that all the industralists already knew, was not applied and it was tolerated that they could present the meals cooked in its facilities. Ever since they are made exhaustive sanitary controls communicate the holders who no longer can offer meals, unless they are packaged, precooked and that these products count on the corresponding sanitary authorizations. The main reason is that these temporary and detachable facilities that cannot have more than 20 square meters, do not count on running water nor sanitary, reason why they either do not have system of dirty water treatment nor toilets and showers. As result of them inspection is had raised acts, and the last season three kitchens of the beach chiringuitos were closed . Councilman of Tourism, Candido Valladolid, maintained yesterday a meeting with the representative of the sector, Bartomeu Escandell, which also was attended by the conseller of Formentera, Josep Mayans, the sanitation inspector and the representative of Coasts in the island. Later, they met with all the holders of authorizations. Valladolid informed "we have explained that behind these concessions are sanitary norms that are due to respect and therefore they cannot give meals". The councilman insisted that "he is due to observe the rules to avoid the damage that could entail the retirement of the concession". On the other hand, the representative of the sector requested that for the next season permissions are asked to extend these chiringuitos until the 100 square meters to be able to count on the sanitary systems demanded to prepare meals. Escandell assured that "we can be a year like this, but not more because we could not maintain the business of a profitable form and it would be the end of the kiosks".
