Almost a 30% of touristscoming to Ibiza are interested in the sports

According to the data of Turespaņa the 92 percent of the foreign tourists to Spain spent their vacations in six main destinies. With 9.6 million of tourists (18.3% of the total of foreigners that visited Spain), Ibiza and the rest Balears are in the third place, behind Catalunia, that welcomed in 11.8 million foreign tourists and of the Canary Islands, that received 10.7 million million. In Balears the 40 percent of the foreign tourists is British and the 36 percent is German. For the German tourism Balears it continues being the main place of destiny in Spain since the 35 percent of the tourists of this country arrived at Spain went towards the archipelago. On the other hand, the use of extrahotel lodgings on the part of the foreign tourists who arrive at Spain finds present in all the national destinies although with very different intensity. Thus there are three independent communities:Ibiza and the rest of Balears, the Canary Islands and Madrid, in which the tourists who lodge in establishments nonhotelkeepers do not surpass the 35 percent of the total of foreigners who receive. Once in Spain the main activities that carry out the tourists, to the margin of directly related to the sun and the beach, are to buy (85%), the cultural visits (61%) and the physical exercise (25.5% of total of tourists). Another 23.8 percent declared to have made visits to relatives or friends in their trips to Spain throughout 2003. A data to consider in the report of Turespaņa is that more and more tourist have come to Spain to learn the language. In this case, Balears and the Canary Islands are badly positioned when they could be located more to the level of other demanded zones like Catalunia and Madrid. Plus it is , "a tourism that divides the high season up".
