Residents of Ibiza have a average of 7.5 years of studies, below the state average

The citizens of Ibiza and the rest of Balears have studied an average of 7.5 years, slightly below the state average, that is of 7.6 years, according to a work made by Bancaja that approaches the disparity of the degree of academic knowledge of the residents in each autonomy. In this respect, the study reveals that the educative level of the citizens of Ibiza and the rest of Balears presents a coefficient of inequality of the 0.611, which locates to the Archipelago around the average Spanish, who is of the 0,644. This value reflects that the global inequality is equivalent to a situation in which half of the population had a 64 percent more of human capital than the average national and other half, a 64 percent less than that average. The report indicates that Murcia, Basque Country, Catalunia, the Canary Islands and Balears are the communities in which there is a smaller interpersonal inequality as far as the level of studies. The study demonstrates that in Spain "a great inequality between the educative levels of its citizens exists", between which emphasizes the case of Ceuta, Melilla, Extremadura, Andalucia and Murcia. According what this indicates, the human capital, measured by the average years of study of the population, "is a fundamental variable in the determination of the salarie levels", because the opportunities of use and the wages of the individuals depend on their human capital.
