Ibiza registered in 2005 a growth of 44.6% in the construction, the biggest one of Balears
The Construction Association had a 35.6% the reduction of the public work in the Island of Ibiza. The Association of Constructors of Balears requested yesterday more public work investment after the reduction of the 35.66 percent in 2005 in the islands, which contrasts with the increase of the 11.11 percent of the investment in the private sector. Also, the association assures that greater growth in private work corresponded in Ibiza with a 44.63%, whereas the investment in Majorca grew a 9.99% and diminished in Menorca a 10,9%. For the chief of a main directorate of the Association, Manuel Gomez, the diminution of the public work in Balears cannot be justified by the fact that in 2004 a great volume of money in this type of construction had been reversed, since the 931.65 million euros destined to this aim in this exercise constitutes a number surpassed in 2005 by eleven independent communities. Gomez indicated that it is precise to invest in public work, among other aspects, to the "great deficiency" that suffers the Comunitat Autònoma in primary education centers. The set of the public administrations bid in 2005 works by value of 599.42 million euros. Most of this money it was destined to railway infrastructures, with 137.87 million euros.
