The Death of the ECO-TAX
The Balearic Island goverment announced yesterday (September 5, 2003), that the Ibiza hotels and the other hotels of other islands of the Balearic chain (Mallorca, Menorca, Formentera), effective immeditely, are no longer responsible for collecting the 1.03 Euro per person per day ECO-TAX, which was instituted last year by the 'Progressista' Party.
This is seen as the first step in derrogation of this onerous tax. More details at:
