The Church bell used to have many function from calling the people to pray, to alert them of a potential enemy coming and to come into the church for protection. It was even used to give the time of day. For all these diferent messeges there had to be a complex system of tones and rythms what as been almost completly lost with time. The biggest and most famouse bell on the island is the one found on the top of the cathedral in Ibiza town

These sort of bells can be found in every small town and you can search for accomodation there by clicking on the town name, SANTA EULALIA, SAN JOSE or SAN MIGUEL
