National Fiesta-Day of the Spaniard. Also the Patron Saint day of the Guardia Civil and the Post Office workers.

But mostly, it is an opportunity for a 3 day weekend...(unless you are in outbound traffic from Madrid)...incredible traffic jams.

This National Fiesta has been celebrated since October 12, 1492....day on which Christopher Columbus discovered America.
