INFORMATION ABOUT THE COASTAL WILDLIFE:

The landscape along the coastline offers a unique vegetation, mostly formed by local species, especially smaller varieties, very resistant to the extreme conditions of the coastal climate.
Throughout the coast, many species, such as the SEAVIOLET (genre Limonium) and its numerous local variations are plentiful, much like the SEA FENNEL (Fonoll marí, Chrithmum maritimum).
Among the larger size vegetation, ALEPO PINES (pí, Pinus halepensis) and the JUNIPER (Savina, Juniperus phoenicea) and numerous species of bushes such as lentiscus (mata, Pistacea lentiscus), rosemary (romaní, Rosmarinus oficinalis), are found.

WATER TEMPERATURES:

The combination of the lack of waves and lack of cold water currents allows for a stronger influence by the sun on our coastal waters. In addition, the closeness of the sea creates the uniquely warm water temperatures during the summer.

During April and May, the water temperature is 18.5 ºC, and in June, 21.5ºC. Thanks to the oceans thermal inertia, ideal water temperatures are maintained throughout the year. For those who do not enjoy the high temperatures of the summer are it is refreshing to still be able to swim comfortably in the autumn.

SEA BEDS:

The structure of our sea basins is ideal for all visitors' enjoyment and safety. In general, due to the effects of sea erosion the seabeds of these beaches and coves remain shallow.
The exceptional and world famous transparency of Sant Josep's waters and the virtuosity of its basins reveals a play of light creating spectacular water and basin coloring in our beaches.

WINDS:
During the summer, most winds have a Southern or Eastern direction and generally of low intensity and from the sea inland. The special configuration of our beaches, generally small coves surrounded by mountains and capes, protects the cove against any kind of intense winds.
