Although Vicente Guasch was
actually born in the town of Ibiza,he grew up in the family house on Puig
de Missa, which is today, the home of the Ethnological Museum of Santa
Eulalia.

For this reason it is in this town where he continues to invest his experience,
which has all the signs of being one of the longest political careers
in the history of Spain's democracy.
During this year, the silver anniversary of the 'Popular'(PP) political
party in Santa Eulalia, there are many new projects planned, which Vicente
himself points out...try not to give priority to any one
of the townships within the county of Santa Eulalia:
Santa Eulalia, Jesús, Puig d'en Valls, Santa Gertrudis and Sant
Carlos. Thes projects require the investment of time and money, and are
not without some political controversy.
Vicente Guasch Tur sounds like a father speaking of his children when he talks about the inviable equality of his townships.
Although there are few residents who do not identify his face, there are many who are unaware of his personal biography. For example, that he grew up in Can Ros on top of the hill called Puig de Missa, next to the ancient church of Santa Eulalia, although his mother gave birth in the hospital of San Elm of Ibiza town.
His dedication to Santa Eulalia is the main reason he never left and continues living in Santa Eulalia near the the river which provides the name of the town (Río de Santa Eulària).
Vicente talks to any resident of the village, and they do not hesitate to stop him on the street to ask about the towns' plans for some project or other.
There are a lot of things the Mayor is proud of, but one of the things of which he is proudest is the new 'Palacio de Congresos' or Convention Center withan auditorium (1243 seats) and cultural center-whith expositiona reas, a restaurant, workshops, and meeting rooms, which is currently under constructiion in the area of Cas Capitá (near the harbour of Santa Eulalia).
"..and..", adds Vicente proudly, "We don´t want anyone to be able to say that we don´t keep our town clean ." |

Vicente is overcome with childhood memories
of the smell of baking bread in his old family house

Two swimming pools, soccor fields with grass, five tennis courts and various
sports centers all open to the public...is, the words of the Vice Mayor,
Vicent Riera...".mucho!.."
"..and this year.." adds Vicente: "We are connecting all
the neighborhoods of Can Nadal, Cana Negreta, Cana Palava Can Ramón
y Cana Poua -to the water purifying plant of Ibiza."
